Aaron Poole has a passion for two things - sports and photography. Raised in the heart of Texas, he jumped the Red River to attend the University of Oklahoma where he found a way to combine both passions as a staff sports photographer for the school paper, The Oklahoma Daily.
As photography became a larger part of his life, he relocated to Southern California to focus his studies more strictly on sports photojournalism. His work has been featured at the Annenberg Space for Photography. In 2010 he covered his first Olympic games and was also invited to participate in the Eddie Adams Workshop as a member of Barn Storm XXIII.
He has gone on to photograph such sporting events as the NBA All Star Game, Fiesta Bowl, NCAA March Madness, Big XII Conference Championships, 2009 World Figure Skating Championship, X Games, 2009 National Senior Games, Olympics trials in bobsled, skeleton, skiing, & snowboarding, and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. He has also worked with clients such as AARP, AEG Worldwide, Fat Burger, Gatorade, NBA Entertainment, New York Times, Nike, MTV, and the Pac 10 Conference.
His vision is simple… To capture those special moments when sports become about more than just a game.
